"Bryan F",
To help you further in this:
Are you using Automatic Updates, and then getting a reminder of what has
downloaded waiting for you to install? Or are you going to the Windows
Update site and getting this reminder after performing the scan?
Assuming the former, you can turn off the notification in the Control Panel.
If you:
1) Open Control Panel
2) Click on the Automatic Updates icon
3) Select the 3rd option, which will turn off the notifications.
***WARNING: By turning off the automatic notifications, you will not be made
aware of critical updates to Windows unless you turn this notification back
on, or you go to the Windows Update site and scan your own machine.
Sincerely,
Pat Walters [MSFT]
