I have upgraded my Vista to an ultimate version. Gadgets have disappeared
from my screen.
Trying to reopen the slidebar with my admin account, Vista tells me to use
an admin account. Conversation with my PC is limited to entering OK
Any idea? Thanks for any help

Have you gone to the Windows Sidebar applet in the Control Panel .. set to
open Windows Sidebar when Windows starts?

Yes I have tried that without success. Whether manually or from launching
Windows the message is the same in French
"Le volet Windows est géré par votre administrateur système"
which means
"Windows slidebar is managed by your system admin"

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.

If that does not work, try repairing your system. Boot from your Windows
Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the setup screen, select
'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows > select Startup
Repair option and follow instructions.
