Hello,

I have been repeatedly told by Windows Update that SP1 and i clicked
continue.
The normal dialogue box comes up and the download is 1.9mb. It then
says the pc will restart several times during the installation. I click
agree to install and then it finishes within 2 seconds.Doesn't ask to
restart Windows.

As soon as thats finishes a bubble appears on the taskbar saying 'NEW
UPDATES AVAILABLe', and guess what?

Yep, it's vista SP1 again.

Also, ever since i first attempted this my windows help and support
doesnt work. When i try and open it it says 'internet explorer cannot
download'.

Can somebody help me with my problem please!!

Thank you very much and your help will be highly appreciated,

Shaan

Hi, Shaan.

Exactly which version of Vista are you running now? INCLUDING the SP level?
(Home Basic? Ultimate? 32-bit or 64-bit?)

The quickest way to see this is;
<Win>+<Break>

In other words, hold the Windows logo key like a <Shift> key while you press
the <Pause/Break> key - in the upper right on most keyboards. This should
cause the Systems Properties window to pop up on your screen. If that
doesn't work, there are several other ways, including Control Panel |
System. Or enter WInVer on the Command Line.

Also, click Start | Windows Update to check out which updates have already
been installed and which ones may be waiting for your approval.

Hi there R. C. White,

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit

Erm...SP0? Because SP1 doesnt install.

Windows Update tells me that SP1 was successful although it obviously
wasn't. However, on uninstall an update, SP1 doesn't show up so it
hasn't installed.

Thanks for your help,

Shaan
