Windows SP2 Does not Even Show Up!

I have automatic updates enabled, and have performed all other updates yet
SP2 does not even appear as an option for install. It is not 'accidentally'
already installed (checked WINVER). This is a new computer, direct from
Gateway with a legitimate copy of XP operating. HELP REQUESTED.

Try doing it manually - IE, Tools - Windows Update - when
appropriate click custom install - it should show up
there at some point. Just tried it on this computer.
I noted that it stopped checking for updates so I just
refreshed the page and tried it again and it worked.

Tried that - does not show up on that site at
