Windows SP2 will not install!! Urgent!

I am trying to update a computer with Service Pack 2. It has successfully
downloaded but when it installs it brings up the the acceptance page, I then
accept the agreement, from there it goes to the install screen where it says
"Initializing installation". It then begins to install and very quickly
after that it says ....failed! I have tried everything written out there to
solve this problem. Please let me know what else to do to solve this.

I have exactly the same problem!

I hope that everyone is having a great New Year's celebration, I'm on my way
out to mine now, but I am having this problem as well. Did anyone have
success?

i am having the same problem , has anyone solved it yet?
