Windows System Image Manager

I am using Windows System Image Manager to create an Answer File for Windows
Vista Home Premium Edition and everything has worked well except for these
two following issues:

1.

I can not get the setup to automatically use Icelandic as the default "Time
and currency format:" and "Keyboard or input method".

The setup always pops up with the question in "1 Collecting information" on
which Language to install:, Time and currency format: and Keyboard or input
method and I have to put the information in manually.

I have tried using "is", "IS" and "0x040F" in InputLocale, SystemLocale,
UILanguage and UserLocale in
x86_Microsoft-Windows-Internetional-Core-WinPE_neutral and
x86_Microsoft-Windows-International-Core_neutral under both 1. windowsPE, 4
specialize and 7 oobeSystem in Answer File-Autounattend and Components.

2.

After installing Windows Vista Home Premium with the answer file the setup
finishes with the user logon screen "Other User". If I click the "Other
User" I get the options of a "User name" and "Password" , both Guest and
Administrator are disabled so there is no user account set up on the vista..

Any ideas appreciated!

I don't know why your input locale isn't working, but i haven't tried to do
that either. As for the account stuff. Sounds like you skiped the OOBE part
of setup so you shot yourself in the foot by not enabling the administrator
account before you syspreped? I usually enable the administrator accoutn
before sysprep'ng then put in an autologon in the unattend with the
password/account info.

I got the Administrator account up and running but I still always get the
following popup during setup:

"Which Language to install:", "Time and currency format:" and "Keyboard or
input method"

I have tried putting "is", "IS", "IS-IS", "is-is" "is-IS", "0x040F",
"0x040f" and 1039:00001039 in all possible locale-s.

Any ideas?

I had the same issue but have resolved it now.

The headings are very misleading, particulalrly the Input Locale and the
UILanguage settings.

I am bas3ed in Australia so will use en-AU as my example.

My assumption was that the InputLocale would be the keyboard setting which
for Australia is en-US.

In actual fact the keyboard setting ios the UILanguage.

So my settings are as follows

InputLocale = en-AU
SystemLocale = en-AU
UILanguage = en-US
UserLocale = en-AU

and in the sub folder SetupUILanguage

UILanguage = en-AU

Works perfectly. Hope you can use this as a guide as i am unfamiliar with IS
default settings

Here's a question. I am trying to set up Windows 7 on our WDS and i
have most of it down. However, one thing that is urking me during the
unattended install is that it is prompting me for the AUtomatic Update
selection. I have looked and looked and i can't find anywhere to set
this option. The system locale and time zone were also coming up, but i
think i have those solved now, thanks to this thread. ANy thoughts on
the Automatic Updates issue?

Thanks for the link, but couldn't find anything concerning the
particular issue. Has anyone come across this? The only thing it
prompts me for now is the Automatic Updates option. I would assume
there is a setting for the imageunattend.xml which would answer
this....please help

Hi--

I don't have experience with unattended image installs, and Malke and
several others here probably do. But I can't understand having installed
Windows 7 more times than I can remember, why there should be anything more
esoteric, other than clicking to accept automatic updates which you can
always tweak any way you want later, on the setup. I'm unclear precisely
what is giving you difficulty as to automatic update choices WDS or not,
(what are they???) that would be holding up your setup/install of Win 7.

And you can always set up a new topic over at the forum Malke linked
you to. Plenty of people there are very familiar with WDS.
