Hello!

I was just wondering if someone could let me know how to change the function
of the Windows Taskbar Power button. It presently serves the purpose of the
SLEEP mode and I would like for it to serve as the SHUT DOWN function.

I would be very thankful for any help with this small inconvenience.

thank you for replying to my question, but your advice did not help.
Someone answered me before you did and let me know how to do it. You have to
Go to POWER OPTIONS, but then instead of going to CHANGE WHAT POWER BUTTONS
DO you have to change the POWER PLAN settings.

Thanks though for taking the time too try and help.

Hi Sobriquet,

No, you do not need to change the Power Plan Options unless there is
something you just want to change.

For Power Button:

For Power Plan Options recommendations (Step Two):

Hope this helps,

Start>Control Panel>System and Maintenance> on Power Options,

Choose "Change when computer sleeps", then

Choose "Change Advanced Power Settings", then

click on "Power Buttons & Lid", then

click"+ Start Menu Power Button", then

click "setting:" then choose "Shut Down"

Click "Apply" TA DAH!

That should do it, . Try it now, Captain.
