Windows thinks I have a MAC

I get the message that a new update is available for Windows 98 but when I
click on the Update Now button I get a screen that says Windows Updates are
available only for computers running Window products and it redirects me to a
page for Mac computers. This started happening out of the clear blue. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Look for "When attempting to access the Windows Update Web site you receive
the following message: Thank You -- you must be running a Microsoft windows
operating system in order to use windows update"
