Windows update: 0x80004005 nothing works...

The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.

I don't know exactly when this popped up, but probably 1-2 months ago I was
completely up to date and I was able to use update. I've tried running the
WGAdiag (nothing came up), I revalidated online, I edited the registry for
privileges, and I made sure my date and time was correct... Somebody help!

Try this, worked for me:
1. Open services.
2. Stop automatic update
3. delete the folder C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\WuRedir
4. Restart the automatic update service.

I actually already did that rename folder/recreate trick... still nothing

"Error Code: 0x80004005" error message when you install Windows XP

A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer.
Error Code: 0x80004005

NB: The same error number may occur during installation and/or updates
