I tried to install bits and auto update both and they both said instillation
failed

Hi Torgeir,
THANK YOU THANK YOU. Your fix worked. I had to run BOTH. However, to get
it to work I had to copy and paste both lines into NOTEPAD (not wordpad) and
remove the "return break" to make it one continuous line. I ran both to
start BITS and AUTOUPDATE service.
I had looked everywhare and finally your fix worked fo XP Home SP2.

i've tried the wordpad trick but without sucess.
is it possible to uninstall sp2 ???
