Replying to my own update. Figured it out.

Removed my NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Compatible Transport Protocol and NWLink
NetBIOS protocol. Installed Protocol and back to normal.

Hi Bob, CD here.. I had the same happen to me... Lost my connection on my PC
although my laptop is fine.. Funny thing is that my laptop uses realtek and
my PC uses Nvidia

So, I turned off automatic updates and did a system restore...

My PC can now connect to the internet, but I don't know where to go from
there.... with regard to current security and future updates.. I am behind a
hardware firewall as well as a McAfee one...

Any advice?

Thanks

CD

Hi CD:

If you did a system restore on your PC, I believe you'll have to go through
the normal network setup again to set up your network.

check you Laptop to see what workgroup name, services, protocols, etc are
used to make the two see each other.

I assume your using XP. It should be fairly easy.
