Windows Update 5 Causing Download Corruption in IE

I posted the following to annoyances.org a while ago. Has anyone else seen
this? I did notice some posts in this group about failed updates - that is
one symptom of this particular problem:

If I am correct about this problem, then I sure hope someone from the media
picks it up and runs with it to get Microsoft's attention, because it is a
big deal, IMO. Imagine all those folks out there seeing wierd update errors
and not having any idea of what is going on. Imagine all of those machines
out there missing various updates/patches...
