New version of update fails to install and doesn not allow me to download any
other updates unless I go for them by searching.
Running Win Vista Home Pre 32 bit. Ive cleared out all the Software Distro
and data cab files stoped and restarted WU in services and still no luck.
Can't find an info on the error code I get 800F081F

I have done everything I have found about WU
Could really use some help,

Thanks

I'd recommend that you...

Start a free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527

Support for Windows Update:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/wusupport

For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY in
the United States and in Canada or by contacting your local Microsoft
subsidiary. There is no-charge for support calls that are associated with
security updates. When you call, clearly state that your problem is related
to a Security Update and cite the update's KB number (e.g., KB123456).

For more information about how to contact your local Microsoft subsidiary
for security update support issues, visit the International Support Web
site: http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx

For enterprise customers, support for security updates is available through
your usual support contacts.

Well, low and behold I found the answer to my problem, I hope this helps
anyone else who has this issue.

Digging around I found in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932494/en-us
the link to downloaded the WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exepackagenow file and
clicked and downloaded the file and it fixed WU.

After I rebooted I opened update back and it searched for downloads
(finally) and came up with 6 of them. I looked through the list before I
installed anything and unchecked and hid the update to Windows Update. I am
running on a full tank again.

Thanks to all those in the list because you all were very helpful!!!

Apparently you hadn't done everything or at least you hadn't found
everything yet.
