Windows Update Agent Automated Scripts break Windows Update?

Hi All,

I have incorporated the MSDN Windows Update script into our XP build and it
works a treat. It identifies required hotfixes and installs them.

I have noticed however that once the code has run, it or Windows Update no
longer identifies any hotfixes for these machines.

The windows update log states it identified 0 updates required where in fact
the duplicate machine beside it that hasn't run the tool states there are
about 11 missing (we installed Office and other components after running the
Windows Update script).

There are no errors in the windows log is as if the windows update agent
just stops detecting anything.

Has anyone experience this or have ideas of what might have gone wrong?

Windows Update does not do Office Updates. To handle Office Updates, you
need to upgrade to Microsoft Update.
