Today, when I looked at the System log in Event Viewer, I noticed two
instances of an error concerning the Windows Update Agent, one yesterday and
the other on the sixteenth. Both recorded the same time: 11:48:16 AM.
Here's the message I get when I view Properties:
Unable to Connect: Windows is unable to connect to the automatic updates
service and therefore cannot download and install updates according to the
set schedule. Windows will continue to try to establish a connection.
What does this mean, and what should I do to fix it? Automatic updates was
working for a while. I saw the icon pop up on the tray about a week ago, and
it downloaded about 40%, but I don't recall seeing it since. I don't see what
could have caused a problem. The only things I can think of that might
possibly have caused the problem is that I turned off Remote Assistance and I
created a password for the Admin. account. Those are the only changes I
recall making recently. Would that have affected anything?
