WIndows XP professional service pack 2.
I want to first thank all of you for reading the LONG note. Second I wanted
to say that I know the updates it is trying to install have been done a long
time ago and others have taken place since then.
I am not sure why it keeps popping up to install them but like I said it
doenst really do anything since they are most of the time 0 in length.
As for antivirus and the other things..ALL gone.. still no luck. Its hubbys
computer so he may have closed it with task manager when it started freezing
up on him about a week ago. He may have also chosen to compact folders
thinking that it would help the recent issues he was having.
At this point I have his computer running at least, no antivirus, no Outlook
express. I did try one of microsofts suggestion and reinstall service pack
2 in order to get Outlook Express back onto the computer, but it didnt work
either. So after 14 hrs I decided to do what Tom suggested and tell hubby to
suffer with Outlook and when Microsoft had a fix, Id work on it again.
PA Bear, I will go look at the link you have provided, and all the other
things you suggested, we already do or not do as the case may be ...except
the 2 things I mentioned he may have done above.
Thanks to all.
