windows update and problem with yahoo messenger

when using yahoo messenger i get error messege about running scripts on the
page and cant seem to use messenger

problem 2. when trying to use windows update i get apage saying this is for
windows os only then a link to a mac update page i am using windows ap and
have installed service pack 3 last month can any one advise
