Windows Update and Windows Server 2003

When trying to access the Windows Update site on our
Windows Server 2003 w/sp3 it just hangs there, the
downloading progress bar never moves and stays at 0%.

When trying to access the site through a shortcut in the
start menu, IE does not open and nothing happens it just
sits there and does nothing.

Tried
adding "https://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/d
efault.aspx?ln=en-us" to the trusted site list and still
the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas?

could you verify that you can surf to all websites ? try www.google.com or
www.creative.com
and give me the answer please

How do you configure your network card ? manually or auto ?
try to configure your dns adresse of your network card manually
if you can : for me it works , instead of obtain DNS server adress
automatically by my Router LAnbooster (who gives also the others parameters
of my network card), i enter manualy the DNS adress of my internet provider
in the network card configuration (there is a communication problem between
windows and my router for dns resolution)

could you test it and answer me please

Yes we can surf to any other site. It doesn't seem to be a
dns issue.
