After reformating and doing a fresh install of WindowsXP
Pro I went straight to windows update to patch it up.
(NOTE I HAD TO DO THIS REFORMAT BECAUSE SP2 CORRUPTED MY
ORIGNAL INSTALL)
It started ok, patching 17+ files, rebooted and went back
again. 1 File remains. Downloaded it, installed,
rebooted. The same update remains. KB837532 (don't
remember the exact update, I am not on that machine now.)
I tried installing it 9+ times, using auto and manual
updates. I have downloaded the .exe off the ms website.
It shows up as installed inside settings|control panel|add
or remove programs.
I have already activated (again) my copy of XP. Is MS
screwing me over because I had to re-install XP? How do I
clean this mess up?
