Windows Update broken

I've tried the obvious to repair Windows Update (through Control Panel) but
whatever I tried. Neither can I get Win Update to accept the Active X
function nor does Safe mode work. At least, for the time being, is there
another way to get any updates I may have missed in the past two or three
weeks? Some advise me?
