I did a batch of updates on tuesday and now on my system, i am getting the
"install wizard" when i try to launch programs. I am also getting some errors
that my office install disc cannot be found, though i can run the programs.
this office issue is happening no matter what i launch. if i click cancel, it
works as normal.

happening on both XP home SP2 and XP Pro sp2 (none of the systems are sp3).
and they both have different versions of office.

thanks!

I am taking a stab at your issue since you did not post relevant details

Install Wizard ??? Maybe you mean Windows Installer.

See the following below if it applies for you but first read the following link

Read after reading first link

I am taking a stab at your issue since you did not post relevant details

Thanks for the try so far....

the installer i am speaking of is..for example...you attempt to try to load
one of the "assistants" in office, it launches the installer and asks where
the "install file is located".

That box continues to pop up, even when not attempting to use an Office app,
but merely firefox...

this has only begun since loading the last batch of windows/office updates
