When I try to run windows update my computer crashes and runs diskcheck
before starting up again. It has affected outlook and messenger, and I can
not run updates. Presumably it is because of these two files:
Temp\WER1635.dir00\Mini011107-04.dmp
Temp\WER1635.dir00\sysdata.xml

I use XP SP2 home edition.

Can anybody tell me how to fix this?

Thank you for your suggestions, but seeing how I am not any good at
computers, I have a couple of questions for your replies...

I can not restart my computer in safe mode, I only have the options of log
of/Shut Down/Restart and I can't seem to find anywhere where it says how to
start in safe mode.

Also, deleting the \Local settings\Temp - is that correct, it is a 246MB
folder, so will I lose information?

I apologize for my ignorance, but I just am no good at this...

Thanks again!

Hi TFA

when you boot your Pc, before Winxp loading Phase , press F8 , and then you
will see a menu , which will have a safe mode line , just choose it.
