Windows Update\Defender error

Hi,

While trying to run Windows Update on a Vista Beta test machine, I'm getting
error code 80244019. It's pretty much a vanilla install with only Office
2007 beta on there. I'm also getting an erroir when trying to update Windows
Defender which tells me that Defender was unable to complete the update with
error code 0x8024401a. Are the two related? And is there a fix\work around?
All other network\internet functions work fine.

You cannot download updates when you access the Windows Update Web site from
a Windows XP-based computer that is behind a firewall or a proxy server

hey i m gettign error code 0x8024401b when i m trying to update windows
defender. i use a proxy. my internet explorer is able to connect with the
same proxy. plzz help
