Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
Click on Windows Defender, then click the Change button
Click Next
Put a mark next to Update Windows Defender, click Next
Click Install
Afterwards, restart the system

Save it to the Desktop, close the browser, and then run mpas-d.exe by
double clicking it.
The reason why the defs are not installing *may* be due to
corruption/damage in the WINDOWS\Software Distribution\Download folder.
Suggest deleting all contents of the *Download* folder.
