I was just working on my computer and windows updated my system, then it told
me to restart my computer, I wanted to finish what I was doing so I clicked
cancel so I could restart later. All of a sudden Norton alerts me that it has
been attacked or a debuging program is working. I restarted my computer and
Norton looked ok except for the spam control interface, every time I go to it
windows tells me there is a script error and asks if I want to continue
running scripts on this page, all the tabs have a box with a red x in them
with no information and when I try to use them I get the script error. This
happened a few weeks ago and I formatted my computer because I thought I had
a virus, but now I know for a fact it was Windows Update that is the culprit,
since I watched it happen with in the last half hour.

Next time disable Norton's auto scan before the installation begins and
do the downloads manually instead of automatically. If you have a recent
restore point, roll back the computer and start again.

After further research, I have found out the problem is if you have IE 7 beta
then there is a compatability issue with Norton who knows about the problem
but will not help due to the fact IE 7 is in beta form.

Had you mentioned that you were running IE7 Beta3 in your first post, I
could've saved you some time and told you that in my first reply, Dwayne.
