After installing sp2 on my computer, i noticed the new security center.
The firewall was on and the automatic updates was on, and the virus
protection was off, cause i didnt have a virus program yet. Anyways I got
mcafee security center, with only virus protection on. I noticed then the
automatic updates turned off, and it said click here to turn on, i then got a
msg saying "We're sorry. The security center could not change your automatic
update settings. To try changing these settings yourself, go to system in
control panel. On the automatic updates tab, select automatic (recommended),
and then click ok"

So i went to the following location and noticed the automatic update option
was already on automatic. But it still showed it was off on the security
center. So i tried to do some updates manually and go the error ([Error
number: 0x80070424]
)

Any ideas what could be happening?

I'm getting exactly the same thing too. It started after I got a virus which
I eventualy got rid of. Help and Support doesn't work either.

Look for some context for that error code in the WindowsUpdate.log

Wonderfulness, Your MacAfee is fighting with SP2 Security center. Try
setting your MacAfee to allow automatic updates. lots of malware does
automatic updates also; i'll bet that is how M$ learned how to do it.
