Windows update doesn't seem to work

I recently tried runnung Windows Update on my XP Pro system and now receive
the following error.

Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested
page. You may find the following resources helpful in resolving the problem:

There is no error message, no details, nothing.

I'm wondering if anyone else out there is having the same issue.

Yes I am having the exact same problem. I ran the latest update on my laptop
with no problems but have not been able to get the update to work (it has
worked in the past) on my desktop PC.

I DID NOT "find the following resources helpful in resolving the problem:"
