Windows Update Download Failed

Win XP Home SP2

I tried getting the feb updates 20 mins ago several times and I just get
faild download on all of them and individually aswell someone help me solve
this please, pasted my log below

Click Start, select Run, type in: services.msc
then press enter
Now look for the Automatic Updates Service, right click it and choose to stop

Click Start, select Run, type in: %windir%\SoftwareDistribution
then press enter
Open the DataStorage folder and delete its contents.
If in doubt, cut and paste the contents of the datastorage folder to another
location so that you can copy them back if required

Click Start, select Run, type in: type services.msc
then press enter
Now look again for the Automatic Update Service and choose to start

Try running the Updates again.



No guarantees, but it’s worth a try.

The solution posted here

worked for me. If it works for you, I suggest you add it to your favorites
because my experience has shown that this problem will recur! It will delete
your update history (not critical), but it gets the updates to download.
