Windows Update duplicate entries

Hello I am new to this forum.

I am currently running Vista Ultimate. I have Windows Update set to
automatically download and install new updates. I have noticed though that
some Ultimate extras have appeared more than once, such as DreamScene and
Hold 'Em Poker, but I have already installed these. I decided to hide the
updates since I already have them. But, because I was curious, the next time
I was asked to install updates, I looked at a couple of entries and have
found that there were some that were already installed. If I install them, I
am almost sure that it will result in a duplicate entry.

Please let me know if you have any information on this. I thank you in
advance.

They may be updates /for/ the DreamScene and Hold 'em Poker already
installed!

This may be the case, but I have also 2 entries of the following as well:
KB938123
KB933928
KB933360
KB929916
This was after Windows installed them automatically today. Are these
updated updates as well? To specify an example so that I get my point across
is it like KB938123.001 was installed a while ago and now KB938123.002 was
now installed like it is an update to the pre-existing one? I am at a loss.
Cause as far as I can tell, they are the exact same entries in the history of
my Windows Updates.
By the way, thank you for your reply.

As long as (1) all four updates are listed in Add/Remove Programs (Show
Updates box must be checked) and (2) none of them are offered again, ignore
it.

Well, as I look in Add/Remove Programs, or in Vista: Programs and Features,
there are no duplicates. I don't know why sometimes things are offered
again, but you are right. It looks like there is only one entry of
everything now that I look at it. What do you think at this point? Ignore
it as you said? Should I ignore other updates that may be one that I have
already installed as well, and just have Windows install anyway?

Thank you again for your assistance.

If Automatic Updates isn't offering any new updates and/or if Windows Update
website doesn't offer any, ignore it.

Be aware that a new round of updates are released on the second Tuesday of
every month (e.g., 9 Oct-07).
