Windows update error 0x80072F76

I noticed that I hadn't received any recent Windows updates. I went to do a
manual update and now receive the following error message:
"Error Number 0x80072F76" The website encountered a problem and cannot
display the page you are trying to view. The options below might help you
solve the problem....

I've checked my firewal settings and all is in oder I've added the Microsoft
update site the known list of sites in the security area of Internet Explorer.
Does anyone know exactly what this error means?

Also receiving this error. This is absolutely inexcusable, look at the number
of people having trouble with this problem, you would think that some one at
microsoft could fix this. I am currently trying to finish a brand new install
of winxp home w sp2 that i purchased today and cannot access windows update.
I have no other software installed other than winxp. Automatic updates are
on. The windows firewall is turned off, security settings are set to custom=
low. What gives? Don't make me regret spending my money once again! comeon
microsoft do something about this!
