windows update error n° 80246005

hi,

i recently tried to launch windows update and keep getting this error for
all security updates (always the same). the downloading windows appears and
it immediately displays this (w/out downloading)

it worked fine b4, but im not sure whether i have to blame the v5 or all the
new spy/ad aware i installed recently

in any case, does any one have a clue to what i should do ?

For me it finally worked. I have XP SP1. I had to download a patch
mentioned in another discussion if you search "80246005" here. Patch is
KB842773. Download, restart, then try to update to SP2. Here's the link to
