Hi everyone, this is the forth time I post this problem,
but noone has
helped me yet. I have been having windows update problems
for a while now, it
can't do it
and comes back with different errors each time. sometimes
with 0x8DDD0018 and
other times with a different one(this happens when I
restart some dlls). at
this point I intend to start windows update service from
srevices, but
surprisingly the service is disabled and I can't change
it to automatic and
start. I have done some dll registrations as the
following:
click start, run,
type the following: net.exe stop wuauserv
click OK,
type the following: regsvr32.exe wuapi.dll
click OK,
type the following: regsvr32.exe wups.dll
click OK,
type the following: regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll
click OK,
type the following: regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll
click OK,
type the following: regsvr32.exe MSXML3.dll
click OK,
type the following: net.exe start wuauserv
click OK
restart computer

all of the steps I did were successful except one,
wuapi.dll failed to load
with error 0x80070005 and after restarting the same
problem I had before, no
updates. I would really appreciate some definitive
answer, I don't think this
should be a complicated matter, it is only an updater
engine having problems,
but it has taken a day of my time now. thanks for your
help, I am desparate.

Farshad
