Windows Update Error number: 0x80244021 after XP SP2

Hi,

I experienced the Error number: 0x80244021 in the express or custom
install of Windows Update. Please could someone help me ?

For example, does it require authentication? If so, what kind

I am having the same problem at the company I work at.
Our proxy server requires authentication and it is integrated to our AD.
Even when I tell my IE to go directly to the internet and bypass the proxy
server it still sends the request to the proxy server. Why does the new V5
windows update do this?
What part of the WindowsUpdate log do you require? The whole file? How do I
attach it?

Could you go to WU website and try again and then open up
%windir%\windowsupdate.log and copy and paste log entries with time
stamp around the last time you tried WU site?

I just also like to note that we are not running XP SP2 as yet

Here is my windowsupdatelog.
I also have found that the new windowsupdate (V5) tries to always go the the
proxy server and found that it tries to go through with no authentication.
Our rules deny any access to the internet without authentication.

It seems to come from an identification problem with ISA
(fer me)
If you use ISA server try to desactivate the
autentification for "all acces in http"

Hi,

We’re having the same problem and we can’t authorize anonymous access to the
HTTP Protocol, the actual solution does not help.

Is Microsoft going to provide any solution for the incompatibility between
SP2, Windows Update V5 and the ISA Server?
