I too rolled back WINXP to SP1 and have the same troubles. No patches will
install.
4 patches out of over 40 attempted installed manually, KB842773, KB888162,
KB888302 & KB891781.
log for KB385732 and other patches contained lines:
AnalyzeComponents: Hotpatch analysis disabled; skipping.

AnalyzeComponents: Hotpatching is disabled.
