This is a recent problem, since the update last tuesday to the Microsoft
Windows Update system. Im running Windowx XP x64, and had all the latest
updates until the issue started last tuesday [when they updated the updator].

When i run the Windows Update thing, it goes to the new site, i click "Scan
for updates", it flashes 0% for about 1/4th of a second, and then goes to a
page that says "Windows Update Error". There isnt an error code or anything.
Im the only user on the computer [the admin]. What should i do?

PS. I have running Norton Endpoint 11 as an anti-virus since march, so could
it be conflicting with the new updator?

System specs are:
Windows XP x64
Intel Core i7 @ 2.8ghz
12GB DDR3 RAM
EVGA x58
BFG GTX 295

The most likely cause of this issue is Norton Endpoint 11. It *may* have
interfered with the installation of the Windows Update Agent by
preventing either a necessary registry entry or blocked the installation
of the required ActiveX object.
Try another updating attempt from a Clean boot state:

programs are interfering with a game or a program that you currently use

If no joy, check the WindowsUpdate.log for FATAL error entries -

The most recent entries are at the *bottom* of the log.
