867801 was apparently the last cumulative update to IE6sp1 that you applied
and it is not even as current as the one that was being used to solve
the subject symptom in the discussions I was referring to.
Did you try going using the Bulletin search tool?
If you did you would find that the latest cumulative update to IE6sp1
is 889293. I would guess that this one might have the same effect
that the other one was claimed to have had but I don't know that.
Notice that now cumulative updates do not integrate hotfixes;
so if one of the (previously integrated) hotfixes was the actual solution
you would need the rollup (patched version), 889669
(Do a Search for: 889293 MVP to see the explanation from
Torgeir Bakken (MVP) about this.

Have you missed the point? I don't want you to do a general search
of microsoft.com. I want you to use the Search for: field in the web
interface. You are complaining about something that already
has several easily found solutions.

That could indicate a problem with a proxy server. It apparently equates
to an HTTP 401 error, which would indicate an authorization problem
with a server. I don't think that you would normally get such an error
with an unimpeded connection to an AU server.

I'm trying to give you tips on how to find your own answers.
In order to find your own answers you need to know how
to refine your own questions and implement them via searches.

Then they aren't searching very effectively either
or at least not communicating well about what their
specific symptom differences are once they have
finished trying all the other suggestions they can find
with not much effort at all.
