Hello I have a HTPC with
Windows Vista Home Premium

and until some time agoe windows update worked correctly
I have also installed the SP1 (I had unloaded it in office)

Now from some time time when I try to execute windows Update (The
connection Worc correctli , i brawse gage )
he try to download a security update but he give me allways rhe same error
80246008

i followed the help instruction (the same of this page
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...fb2fd1033.mspx)

and so i try to start the service
"Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)"

the service seem to start but amessagebox that
it says:

il servizio sembrerebbe partire silo che appear a messagebox Sayng:
"Il Servizio Servizio trasferimento intelligente in background su computer
locale si è avviato, quindi si è arrestato. Alcuni servizisi arrestano
automaticamente se non sono utilizzati da altri servizi o programmi."
I'm Italian
In english:
"the background
intelligence transfer services service on local computer started and stopped.
some services stop automatically when not in use."

and windows update continue NOT working

I think that this is the most significant error message from your log:

Tell us what you get if you run (in a cmd window)

bitsadmin /util /version /verbose

On Vista you may have to open that window using Run As... Administrator
to get a complete report.

You may notice that there is also a /repairservice option for that command...
