I downloaded, installed and scanned with MSRT - didn't find anything. Tried to scan with onecare live but I just kept getting this error message0x08402405 even in safe mode. So I didn't bother trying to figure that out. I installed spybot and scanned only found cookies. tried installing Adaware but got this message - The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can happen if your running in safe mode or the windows installer not correctly installed. I downloaded AVG Anti virus free version and when I went to install told me I didn't have a compatible OS. I needed at least W2K SP4 SR 1. So I downloaded this SR1 and installed it. After computer restarted I tried Automatic updates and it work fine. Was able to download all security updates. Still had the Windows installer error message when I tried to install Adaware again. Need to fix that problem. Thanks for your help. Problem solved.
