Windows Update-What Happened?

My computer automatically downloaded the windows update yesterday and after
the necessary restart, my computer looked as if it were brand new. My user
account was gone. All files, programs, etc. that have been added since the
purchase of my computer are gone. I tried to do a system restore but there
are no dates and times available prior to the windows update.

Anyone have any idea what happened? How can I get everything back?
