Windows update has encountered an error - 0x800B0001

Windows update has encountered an error and cannot
display the requested page. Erron number - 0x800B0001.

This is what comes up when running wnupdmgr.exe from the
system32 folder.

If I try to run it from the start menu, it first brings
up the screen asking which user should run the program (I
only have the one besides the Administrator) and my user
has admin rights.

It then seems to check for update v4 and comes up with an
Administrator only error. I have done everything in
KB316524 and it hasn't changed anything.

Can anyone help? : )

hi mike,
i'm having the same problem, have contacted microsoft and
was told a windows professional is checking it out.
it seem's to me that window's update cannot scan my
computer, then kick's me onto the page you refered to.
i'm snookered, so if you have any luck in solving the
problem, please let me know.
