Windows Update has killed VNC access

After the latest Windows updates automatically installed on some of my
computers, i am no longer able to VNC into any of them. I did see that the
updates included some security fixes which prevented people from taking over
your computer, but surely all of the VNC holes would have been patched a long
time ago.

Can anyone suggest anything that I do to re-enable VNC to run on my
computers?

add an exception for vnc under windows firewall
