I have a similar problem. Running Windows XP Home Edition with SP2, Norton
Internet Security 2005, with Windows Updates set for prompt to download.
Approx ten days ago Windowsrequested to do a mutiple update, which I
foolishly let it do. All the downloads had not been completed when the ISP
connection was lost and the system shutdown, upon shutdown it said it was
doing automatic installation of downloads and that it would shut itself down
after. Since using PC since then Outlook Express will NOT send or receive
emails, and the download icon is intermittently on in the task bar, saying
43% downloaded! Alos the Winows Update website is inaccesible from this PC.
So I am having to do this using PC at work! I have also download all the
recent popular updates for Windows XP (IE & Security) at work and then
installed on home PC and it still won't work properly!
Anybody know what is causing the problem?
