Hello everyone,

Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter. I currently have a
client who is having a strange issue with their workstation. They are
constantly receiving a notification that their computer needs to install a
critical update to ASP.net; however, once the update is installed they are
continually prompted to install the update again and again.

Does anyone have any input on this issue?

Thanks again!

Troubleshooting installation and failed downloads of Framework 1.1

Posted by another user - Microsoft Response

This issue can occur if the previous .NET Framework component is damaged. Let's try to
remove the previous version of .NET Framework and reinstall all of them.

Step 1: Download Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp utility
============================================
1. Visit:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...BD/msicuu2.exe
2. Save the file to your Desktop
3. Please double click the file msicuu2.exe on the Desktop to install this
tool on your computer.

Step 2: Remove .NET Framework 1.1
========================
1. Click Start -> (All) Programs->Windows Installer Clean Up.
2. See if you can find .NET Framework software. If so, remove it.
