Try the following:
1. Open Windows Explorer or My Computer.
2. Go to C:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/Uninstall Information.
3. Right click on the Uninstall Information folder and select Properties,
uncheck
the Hidden box and then click OK. A confirmation screen will come up.
Select the
Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files button. This will unhide
all of
the files in the Uninstall Information folder.
4. Then move all of these files to a temporary folder that is empty on your
desktop. (for backup)
Note: If you cannot see the Uninstall Information folder, please try the
following
steps:
1. Click Start->My Computer.
2. Click Tools->Folder options->View.
3. Select "Show hidden files and folders" in the Advanced settings.
4. Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)".
5. Click OK.
After you remove the Uninstall Information, let's try installing Internet
Explorer 6 SP1 again.
Any change?
