Windows Update KB911562 / Win 2K

I am having problems installing update KB911562. I am running windows 2000
SP4. I receive and erro message that says the update failed. I have tried
re-installing MDAC, I have tried downloading the update and installing it
manually. Still no success. I would like to get this installed and move on.

How to check for MDAC version

Determine the version of MDAC first and then post back with it, please.

When I run comp checker, it comes up as MDAC 2.5 SP3. I have tried to install
2.8 but everytime I run the comp checker it comes up as 2.5 SP3. Thanks.
