My activation status is all over the place (sometimes its active and other
times its inactive) and I have a question.
I was told on this discussion group to do the following as it is a known
issue and is not caused by and software or drivers, but the Windows System
itself rather.
"To prevent this problem
To prevent this problem, install update 931573. To do this, visit the
following Microsoft Web site:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com)"
I have read all of the information on that site and went ahead and
downloaded that update to install it.
The download of this update (KB931573) was successful and the install
process started just fine until I got an error telling me something like
"this update is not compatible with your system."
Can someone please tell me why this is happening when I do in fact have
Vista Home Premium and have downloaded the correct update?
I would rather not have to call in to activate my key, so please try to to
explain why this actual update isn't working for a system that it was
intended for?
