Windows Update keeps downloading an update that cannot be installe

Auto update keeps downloading an update for VM, and when I go to install it I
get a message that this update cannot be installed without an existing
version of VM being on my pc. Apparently I don't have VM on my pc, so why
does Windows Update keep sending me that update for it?

It's like "Groundhog Day" syndrome. I get this update message over adn over
and over, but it won't install. How do I get VM installed if I don't have it,
or how to I get Windows Update to STOP retrieving this update if it isn't
relevant to my PC?

Ihave the same with the downloaded version of servivce pack 3 office xp
and I want to remove the update because the computer always ask for
installing.
But I don't know were this update is located on my laptop
