Windows Update KP916281

This update keeps coming up as needing to be installed.

I checked update history it has been installed successfully now about 10
times for the same update and it keeps coming up as needing to be installed.

Not sure about how to fix this. In my Settings/add/remove programs it is
not listed as being installed.

Every time i start my machine up it says that this update is ready for
installation.

Please check the value of the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\ProgramFilesDir

If it does not point to "C:\Program Files", then that is your problem.

Otherwise, the normal advice applies:

Disable all third-party anti-virus, anti-malware, download accelerators,
firewalls (re-enable Windows Firewall if necessary), and try again.

If none of the above works, please post the latest contents of
C:\WINDOWS\KB916281.log
