windows update loops

I have a server with win2kserver and the Cumulative Security Update for
Outlook Express 6 SP1 (KB823353)
It seems to keep updating and repeating and it says it is updated and even
if i restart the server the update keeps poping up. is there something wrong
with that particular update? all the others will work but that one thanks.

In Regedit (very carefully and only after SAVE-ing the existing)

Delete the sub-key "SelfupdateStatus" *IF* it is present in the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\WindowsUpdate\IUControl
key.
Exit out of Regedit.

Hi,

If you have the security update KB897715 (MS05-030) installed,
it could be caused by that.

Temporarily uninstall KB897715 (from Add/Remove Programs), and see if
KB823353 (MS04-018) installs successfully. Then install KB897715 again.
