Auto update started to download when it got to item 33 of 51 no further
progress was made, after 12 hours I had to re boot, no error messages
displayed, on re booting system problems with mouse and screen freezing up,
re installed windows this occurred 4 times stopping at item 33, I am now
running with Auto update turned off, this is normally on so updates should be
up to date

Has anyone encountered this problem or suggestions please.

Regards
John C

Why did you reinstall Windows? Did you format and reinstall or do a Repair
Install?

On rebooting after the first click of the mouse everything would freeze up,
in the first instance I tried sys restore but due to the above unable to do
so. It was repair install, Do you have any ideas.

Why not try a different download site? Go to shavlik.com and try the
NetChk program for free. It can download and install Windows updates
for you.

I suggest that a Repair Install didn't resolve your problems and that you
should do a format & reinstall now.
